Tzedakah app

Do good. Then give it away.

Every mitzvah you complete in Orah earns a small amount of real money, funded by Orah's donors, into your Mitzvah Wallet. When you're ready, you give it to a charity you choose. You never pay a cent. Your practice becomes someone else's help.

๐Ÿ’ธ

Real money, every mitzvah

Each tick adds, for example, $0.05 to your wallet. A good week is a real balance. A good year is a meaningful gift.

๐ŸŽ

Funded by donors, not you

Generous donors fund every wallet. There's nothing to buy and no subscription. Your mitzvot unlock it; you decide where it goes.

๐Ÿฅ

Vetted charities

Give to Leket Israel, Hatzolah, World Jewish Relief, Aish, GIFT, Kisharon Langdon, UJIA, ZAKA, Chevrah Kadisha and more.

โœ…

Giving is a mitzvah too

Donating your wallet is your mitzvah of tzedakah for the day, and 'Give Charity' sits on your daily list as a reminder.

๐ŸŒ

Local causes

Charity lists are tailored by region, so South African, UK and other communities see causes close to home.

How the Mitzvah Wallet works

Orah's donors put up the money. Your mitzvot release it.

  • โ—1. Do a mitzvah. Modeh Ani, Shema, Tehillim, an act of kindness, a blessing. Each one adds a small amount to your wallet.
  • โ—2. Watch it grow. Your balance sits on the Practice tab next to your streak, so you can see your practice turning into something real.
  • โ—3. Choose a charity. Open the Donate tab, pick a cause, and give. Orah transfers the money. That's your mitzvah of tzedakah.

Why tie mitzvot to charity?

Tzedakah comes from the word for justice. Judaism treats giving as a duty, and recommends a little every day over a lot once in a while. The Rambam writes that giving one coin a thousand times does more for a person than giving a thousand coins once, because it trains a generous reflex. The Mitzvah Wallet puts that idea in your pocket: a tiny act of giving, attached to every tiny act of practice.

For donors and sponsors

Orah's wallets are funded by individuals, families and organisations who want to see more mitzvot in the world and more money reaching good causes. If you'd like to sponsor wallets for a school, a community or everyone, get in touch.

Transparency

Your wallet shows exactly how it was earned and where it went. Donations are tracked per charity, and the charities on the list are real, registered organisations you can look up.
