Torah learning that fits between meetings

The Talmud counts Torah study as equal to all the other mitzvot together, and it has never required an hour. One line of Hillel, read properly, changes how you handle your next conversation. Orah's Daily Wisdom is built on that idea: a single teaching a day, short enough to read while the kettle boils, deep enough to stay with you.

What you'll learn

Daily Wisdom draws from the sources Jews have always turned to for how to live, in a translation style that is reverent, readable and original.

  • โ—Pirkei Avot: Hillel, Shammai, Rabbi Akiva and the Sages on character, community and how to treat people.
  • โ—Mishlei (Proverbs): King Solomon on wisdom, speech, money and self-control.
  • โ—Tehillim (Psalms): King David on fear, gratitude, longing and trust.
  • โ—Koheles (Ecclesiastes), Avot d'Rabbi Natan and the aggadah of the Talmud.

Learning that counts as practice

Daily Wisdom is itself a mitzvah on your daily list, so reading it fills your ring and keeps your streak alive. It also earns tzedakah: every teaching you read adds donor-funded money to your Mitzvah Wallet, which you give to charity. Learning and giving in the same two minutes.

FAQ

Common questions

Is Orah a Torah study app?

Orah is a daily practice app with Torah built in. Daily Wisdom, Tehillim, Pirkei Avot and the prayer texts give you a short, real piece of learning every day. It isn't a full library like Sefaria; it's the two minutes that actually happen.

Do I need to read Hebrew?

No. Every text has transliteration and English alongside the Hebrew.

Are the translations reliable?

Translations are original, in a reverent register, with Hebrew terms kept where English flattens the meaning (middos, chesed, bitachon). Every quote in Wisdom of the Greats carries its source.

Does Daily Wisdom repeat?

The library is growing toward a full year of unique entries drawn from Pirkei Avot, Mishlei, Tehillim, Koheles and the Talmud.
